Founders

Marvis Burns is a MBA candidate at Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, PA. He is the founder of Educational Keys, an education consulting company, and an Amazon best selling author of Insiders Guide to a Free Ride. Previously, he worked on Wall Street and currently volunteers for numerous organizations including SEO, Sponsors for Education, MLT, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and Robert Toigo Foundation. He has prior experience running a non-profit organization.

Greg Genco is a fixed income credit analyst at UBS in New York, NY, covering Retail and the Consumer Goods sectors. Previously, he worked for a number of financial firms, including FTSE Asia Pacific in Hong Kong. Greg is an MLT Career Prep alumn as well as an AlumniAthlete Wall Street Internship Program alumn. Athletically, he has won a Youth National Soccer Championship as a member of the Terryville Fire and was named to the Super-Y League Olympic Development Team. Greg was a co-captain of the Amherst College varsity soccer team that won their first NESCAC championship and went to their 2nd Final Four appearance in school history. After graduating from Amherst College with a major in economics, Greg studied Mandarin at The Beijing Language & Culture University in the People’s Republic of China.

Councilors

Katherine Black is an analyst at Spencer Stuart in Stamford, CT and New York, NY, specializing in the Consumer Goods and Services industry. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors for a public high school in New York City, where she provides college counseling services. Previously, Katherine worked as an Admissions Officer for the Amherst College Office of Admission, in Amherst, MA. A native of Skokie, IL, Katherine graduated cum laude from Amherst College, with a double major in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies.

Cleopatra LaMothe is an educator, college counselor, and youth advocate invested in educational entrepreneurship and higher education access. Since 2006, she has worked as a college counselor within universities, New York City public high schools, and nonprofit agencies, advising youth and clients ages 12-27. Over the years, she has advised thousands of New York City youth who were admitted to a variety of colleges and universities ranging from two-year community colleges to Ivy League institutions. After receiving her B.A. in Education Studies and Journalism, Cleopatra moved on from her fellowship at The Institute for Urban Education and spent three years as the College Coordinator at a New York City transfer high school. Currently, Cleopatra is an M.A. candidate at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development studying Sociology of Education. She also currently works as a College Advisor at for Talent Search, a federally funded TRIO program, housed at The Door, advising over 1200 clients a year.

Youth Coordinator

Michael Ifabanwo is currently the Head of Business Development at a new startup called RoomMatchers.com. Roommatchers.com is a real estate social networking website that helps college students and young professionals find compatible roommates and affordable apartments in NYC. Previously, he was a Cash Management Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he monitored and managed foreign central banks dollar reserves as well as buy/sell government bonds on their behalf. Mike also interned at Barclays Capital, a London investment bank on the Equity Cash Trading and Municipal Derivatives Trading Desks. He has also volunteered at several non-profit organizations such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) and The Boys and Girls Club of America as a tutor, advisor, and counselor for high school students preparing for college. Michael has a Bachelors Degree from The City College of New York in Economics and a minor in Computer Science.
